Bombers! Let’s get right into it, we’re here to show you more items of the upcoming ‘Lunar Skies’ season. So here you go!
Lunar Skies Secondary Outfit
As mentioned before the overall vibe of ‘Lunar Skies’ is space and tech-based. So what are we looking at here? Let’s start with the shoes, in physical chemistry this is called a colloidal system (i.e., a dispersion of particles in a continuous medium) in which the particles are gas bubbles and the medium is a liquid. The term also is applied to material in a lightweight cellular spongy or rigid form. Sometimes known as Crocs.. yup, SPACE-TECH. The rest of the outfit is pretty self explanatory we suppose!
As most of you know by now, every season will come with twenty-four individual items. Meaning that every item slot will see approximately four items per season. Sometimes the numbers between individual items slots might vary, but the basic outline of a season will see four items per slot. These four items will all be assigned a different rarity, from common, to uncommon, rare, epic and only sometimes legendary. The power, difficulty of attaining, price and scarcity of the item is determined by their rarity.
This weeks outfit is the most attainable set of items from ‘Lunar Skies’, home to the common slot. Last weeks outfit was a little harder to come by as they are a part of the uncommon slot. Next week we’ll be showing off the rare item set followed up by, you guessed it, the epic set! Leaving us one final update including the Legendary items of this season.
Legendary Items for a Legendary Community
With the head, chest, legs and feet items done we’ve come to a total of sixteen items, leaving us with the two remaining slots, accessory 1 and 2. These items will be harder to come by in general. They’ll have less of an impact on the overall power level of your avatar but will be all the more essential if you’re trying to compete for the leaderboard. The accessories will more often than not reside in the higher rarity brackets with a few items even earning legendary status.
We’ve set out to design at least six of the eight remaining items. But, we wanted to give the community a chance to have their dream item become a part of the game, and have that item be one of the center pieces of the season. And yes, it’s become a mantra of sorts, but we want SpiritBomb to be a project for and by the community! So how exactly does one go about designing this legendary accessory.
NFT layering and Concept/Moodboard Sketches
The accessories are actually some of the easiest to design items from a technical point of few. The way the items are arranged, from bottom to top, is; facial expression, feet, legs, chest, head and then accessory 1 and 2. All the items apart from the accessories are neatly arranged to prevent awkward overlapping. However, the accessories disregard all of that and are slammed right on top of everything else.
This strategy allows for more creative freedom in regards to the items, the accessory could be anything from a pet, suitcase, to a aura effect embedding the entire avatar is an epic glow. Unfortunately though, accessories do have their design-limitations, since accessories like a keychain or sunglasses would have to seamlessly align with the other items designed for the avatar, this sounds plausible at first but this is something that’s nigh impossible to do, since the outline of all non-accessory items will vary from item to item. Thus we’ve opted for accessories to be items that separate themselves from the character entirely and are either placed in front of the avatar or hover somewhere else on the interface, like a flying pet for instance, or a suitcase or treasure chest placed somewhere in front of the legs.
So! We hope that provides enough insight into the mechanics of designing our NFT items. All we would need from you is a small drawing, mood board or other reference material of your proposed item with a short explanation as to why you think this would fit the ‘Lunar Skies’ theme perfectly and what makes it so legendary, because it will be legendary after all!
